Yesterday there were several male elk feeding across the street from the Sweet Memorial building. Their racks are bgetting pretty big. They are velvety and look rather funny because they seem to be too large and out of proportion for the rest of their bodies.

Week two of our vacation days at the YMCA
I am including pictures of the outdoor sculptures at the Leaning Tree. Also pictures the snow that we had here last week. You will see a picture of Daddy with our make-shift table for Settlers. Last evening we were playing Settlers with the Hales in the lobby. Looking out the window, no more than ten feet from us we a half dozen mule deer. Of course we didn't have a camera. Later a lone elk came wandering up to graze near us. That is the one that got a photo.

May 1st, 2008
We are working hard to get this place our home for the next four months. Actually, it is going to be a lot better than last years' arrangement. We have bought a bedspread at the resale shop. I bought a shower curtain to make a closet for the clothes. Daddy brought home a big cardboard box to use as a table for our Settlers playing. And we had hot water for a couple of hours this morning. This sounds like we are ruffing it. But it is kinda fun.
Daddy started to work this morning, and they were glad to see him. I went by to tell him where I was leaving the car, and Margaret, one of the fulltime temps laughed and told me to stop harrassing the help. I won't start working until Saturday. Then my regular days off are Sunday and Monday. So I guess I will start my full week next Tuesday.
We woke up this morning to a light dusting of snow. And as the day progressed, it snowed about 3-4 inches. Beautiful!!! It is 3:00 and most of the snow has gone. We are supposed to get more this afternoon.
Yesterday afternoon Daddy wanted to drive out to Lily Lake. We walked aabout half of the short trail and then lost the trail. So we wandered for a while, but was able to see the lake the whole time. Then we saw a woman walking up above us and got back to the trail. Decided to turn back and go down the way we came up. Pictures are from the trail.
It is kinda of exciting to see different ones coming from last year. And to hear the stories of those not coming for various reasons. One single lady is coming from Tenn. by way of Canada. She got stranded in Montana in the snow, but should arrive today.
Enough rambling for now.
